Watch Matt work, live in studio
Matt's opening up his studio to rural and remote Australian schools in 2020. Spend a day with Matt, live from his studio, as he creates his next picture book. It's a chance to see what it's really like to be an illustrator and writer, uncensored. This is a live work day, so Matt'll be busy, but the days will be structured so that students and teachers get real insight into what it's like in the day of a picture book maker.

I have lived and worked my whole life in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which I do my work and I pay my respects to elders past and present. I acknowledge the sorrow of the stolen generations and the impacts of colonisation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. I also recognise the resilience, strength and pride of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and through my work, aim to help as much as I can to empower and help them thrive.
